When  you come to class.....

  • Please be on time and ready to work out!

  • Clothing should be loose, comfortable, and modest. 

  • Sturdy athletic shoes are recommended for most classes. 

  • Please bring a towel and water bottle. (For Yogal- bring a blanket) All other equipment is provided by DFC.

Introduction to Christian Yoga--
We've decided to offer this class twice a month ...
 
(3rd Tuesday of each month)
 Please bring a towel and blanket.

For a Christian, yoga becomes meditation in motion, preparing your heart and body to work together as tools for worship.  The word yoga is literally translated to mean "to yoke" or "to unite", representing the bringing together  of one's mind and body. We are of course, united with Jesus Christ.

How do you draw closer to God through yoga?  You allow the slow, intentional, meditative practice to train your heart and mind for silence.  Just as a football player trains his legs for power or a baseball player trains his arm and shoulders for throwing the perfect pitch, yoga trains your heart and mind for stillness and silence.  When you learn to become quiet and still, you are creating a heart that is teachable.

Aerobics Plus

 

This unique format consists of a variety of aerobic work-outs, which could consist of step aerobics, kick boxing, hi-low or a cardio circuit training interval.

All classes begin with a warm-up and end with flexibility training.  Most classes also incorporate strength training and core conditioning, and always end with a short devotional and prayer time.

Pump It Up!

 Pump it Up consists of intense and focused work on building muscle.  Two major techniques will be used : DROPPED SETS (using three sets of dumbbells), we’ll begin with the heaviest weight and lift until you reach fatigue, immediately going to weights 10-15% lighter lifting to fatigue again. The 3rd set is reduced again 10-15% to finish your final set to fatigue, and  SLOW BURN, we’ll slow down the movement of each weight repetition to really isolate each muscle group and take muscles to complete fatigue.  Core work and stretching will also be included in Pump It Up!

Healthy & Fit Over 50

 

This non-aerobics class was designed for our friends who are enjoying their 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s!  Each class consists of a warm-up and stretch, followed by resistance training, core conditioning (focusing on strengthening the deeper and often weaker muscles of the abdominals and back), balance and flexibility training.  Each class ends with a devotional time followed by prayer.

Gliding
A unique sliding disc exercise that allows for smooth, fluid, graceful movements.  Gliding exercises work multiple muscles while engaging core stabilization throughout the range of motion.  Simplicity of movement makes this unique exercise system adaptable.  Exercise has never been so graceful and consistent!   "Dynamically Fit is Christ" is incorporating Gliding into some of our classes.   Note:  You may choose to not use the Gliders.  Modifications will be shown. No class will be total Gliding.  We are introducing and incorporating into existing classes.

  • To provide an atmosphere where each person involved can experience the claims of Christ in a non-threatening , non-forced way.

  • To improve the overall physical health of each participant.

  • To create an excellent opportunity for fellowship and interpersonal relationships.

Statement of Purpose:  

  • To honor God with our bodies: "Do you not know that
    your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God?  You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body."   1 Corinthians 6:19-20
