Whosoever Adds

or Takes Away

I warn everyone who hears the message of prophecy in this book, that if anyone adds anything to it, God will inflict upon him the plagues that are described in this book; and if anyone removes from this book any of the prophetic messages it con-tains, God will remove from him his share in the tree of life and the holy city which are described in this book. He who testifies to all this says, I am coming very soon!

–Revelation 22:18-19†

Whosoever Will, Let Him Come!

The Book of Life

He who is victorious¼ I will not erase his name from the book of life, but I will ack-nowledge him as mine in the presence of my Father and his angels.

Revelation 3:5†

Crown of Life

Do not be afraid of what you are going to suffer. See! The Devil is going to put some of you into prison ¼ Prove faithful even unto death and I will give you the crown of life. Revelation 2:10†

The Tree of Life

Let everyone who can hear listen to what the Spirit says to the churches. I will permit him who is victorious to eat the fruit of the tree of life that stands in the Paradise of God. Revelation 2:7†

The Water of Life

"Come," say the Spirit and the bride [the church]. Let everyone who hears this say, "Come!" Let everyone who is thirsty come. Let anyone who wants it come and take without cost the water of life.

–Revelation 22:17-18†

Eternal life

For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, so that no one who believes in him should be lost, but that they should all have eternal life.

–John 3:16†

Who? Me?

John Bunyan, prison author of Pilgrim’s Progress, said something on this order: "If the Lord were to say, ‘John Bunyan, come, take the water of life, take from the tree of life, take the crown of life,’ "I would not be certain that meant me. For there must certainly be other John Bun-yan’s and how would I, or they, know which John Bunyan he was talking about.

"But when the Lord says, ‘whosoever will, let him come and take of the water of life freely,’ then I know exactly that means me because that whosoever will is like a blank check and my name fits perfectly."

Why Should Revelation Be Important to Me?

¨ TO BE COMMITTED TO MINISTRY

In view of Christ’s appearing, Preach the Word; correct, rebuke, encourage– with patience and careful instruction. –2 Tim. 4:1-2

Be patient and stand firm, because the Lord’s coming is near. –James 5:8

¨ TO COMFORT THE BEREAVED

And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore comfort each other with these words. –1 Thessalonians. 4:17-18

¨ TO REACH THE LOST FOR CHRIST

Be merciful to those who doubt; snatch others from the fire and save them.

–Jude v 22, 23
